Welcome to the next interview in GLAM Business Pitch Winner’s Stories! Meet Akshara, the Overall Winner at GLAM Virtual with eBay in June 2021. GLAM Virtual is a leadership program that prepares girls for public speaking, business creation, and leadership roles in STEAM fields. Akshara is very passionate about art and drawing. Those passions, along with a growing interest in coding sparked during a GLAM Virtual session, inspired her to combine her love of art with technology. Since GLAM, Akshara has continued to practice coding and discover new ways to incorporate technology into her art projects.
Show Away Art is a global app for kids to share their artwork with each other around the world. This virtual art gallery is designed for kids aged 4 to 11 to connect with each other through art, allowing them to connect despite language barriers and long distances. What’s next for Akshara and for Show Away Art?
We are so inspired by Akshara’s global Show Away Art business idea. Her superpowers of being a Communicator, Trainer, and Service Provider definitely helped her combine art and technology into a kid-friendly app. We are thrilled to know that the two GLAM Virtual Business Pitching and Public Speaking mentoring sessions with Chelsey Baker, CEO and Founder of National Mentoring Day, helped strengthen Akshara’s public speaking and presentation skills. All of us at GLAM can’t wait to see her confidence, as well as her artistic talents, continue to grow!
More about Akshara
Akshara is a 9-year-old who is passionate about drawing and coding. When she is not completing her school work, she is creating new artistic masterpieces. Akshara plans to continue hosting virtual art galleries, as well as hosting and attending art classes online. She continues to practice her coding skills and is looking forward to participating in the next GLAM Virtual event!

Stephanie is one of the Operations Specialists on Team GLAM. She started out as a GLAM Mentor at our live events in 2018. Stephanie enjoys mentoring and advising people.
