At GLAM - we #choosetochallenge the look of leadership in our world by enabling girls to become strong, self-confident, and successful women - our trailblazers of tomorrow. And this International Women’s Day, we’re proud and super excited to celebrate four girls who are officially GLAM trailblazers: the winner and runners-up of our GLAM Virtual January 2021 Business Plan Pitch Contest!
At the heart of GLAM is our award-winning, two-day immersive and transformative leadership program for girls and, in January, we took GLAM Virtual! We couldn’t have done that without the generosity of our corporate partners, Arm and HatchBeauty Brands, along with the help of the incredible Chelsey Baker, CEO & Founder of National Mentoring Day.
Fifty-eight girls took part in our first-ever GLAM Virtual, hearing from formidable female speakers from the world of tech, creating vision boards, coding with women from Arm and learning how to deliver the perfect pitch with Chelsey. The final mission was to come up with a business idea and pitch it to us in a 3-minute video – over half the girls took the opportunity and we were overwhelmed with their creativity and pitches!
Now let’s get on to the exciting stuff! Please give a virtual round of applause to our Winner of GLAM Virtual January 2021, the 10-year-old Lucy Vickers.
Lucy delivers a heartwarming, engaging and enthusiastic three-minute pitch for her Sunnyside-Up App. Sunnyside-Up supports the positive mental health of young people through gamification.
The judges then faced a further challenge, selecting three entries to be recognized as Highly Commended. Congratulations to Eliza, Freya and Siya.

Moodies App - a solution to improve ‘moods’ of kids at school. The app allows children to share their feelings with teachers and parents, suggesting tasks to help them feel happier.
